I’m looking from a window and I can’t see a tree I’m in a desert city in the land of luxury A woman in a fur coat is walkin’ up the street She got the light in her eyes but she can’t see me I am the floating ghost That no-one ever knows And I go places no-one ever goes I arrive from the skies and float away untouched To the heart of the star where all light is crushed The sounds all around are the ones that I conduct I’m the genius that was always overlooked I am the floating ghost That no-one ever knows And I go places no-one ever goes Float over Mexico Float over Idaho I float anywhere I want to go I know a place – nobody knows Where gravity rises and all time slows The ground is so old that nothing grows And the air is so cold that fire is froze I am the floating ghost That no-one ever knows And I go places no-one ever goes I float in the summer’s heat I float over Downing Street And I float where all the old ghosts meet I gaze on the land – from way up high I don’t understand – how I can fly I got eyes so wide – there’s nowhere to hide You can lock your doors but I can float inside And I trail The Taliban And I view the Vatican And I piss in the Palace of Buckingham

There is a mountaintop in Sausalito - That I go to when I feel low I like to know how high I can go – like a saint climbin’ on his halo I like the air that – you get - up there And there’s an alien in my window – and I’m not scared but It’s definitely a close encounter – The Director’s cut And I’m not scared – but they are everywhere And sometimes they want to fight But I don’t have the energy tonight Where is my sabre of light I’m gonna scare them off tonight Just like the nights with no curtains - in our railroad room With only TV and the streetlights - we fought off gloom We were the sentries – of the night And I never thought I’d consider this – but here I am Never thought that I could steal a kiss – well maybe I can Daydreams devour my mind And night dreams are easy tonight But Highway 99 runs right up to the sky And you will cry and you can die – on Highway 99 Armies of angels assemble Right under the moon As holy empires crumble – and about time too Some debts the taxman never collects – it’s true Like I never declared – that I still love you A Yokohama fog falls and curls – Gravity controls this world Just like love we don’t understand – These forces make all their demands An armada of anger – is anchored off Stavanger A Sargasso Sea of sorrow – can smother all our tomorrows The Kerry rain – runs down my lane Time to decide if I will ride – on Highway 99 There ain’t nowhere to hide - Seattle sleep could be mine Virginia plains – will be my domain I should take any other road – not Highway 99 There’s many other ways I know – not Highway 99 I really love the scenery – on Highway 99 There are dark and deep ravines – on Highway 99 It is the most dangerous road – Highway 99 Where your conscience can explode – Highway 99 A year can pass in just a day – on Highway 99 Your whole life can slip away – on Highway 99 There are so many wrecks – on Highway 99 Am I gonna be the next ? – on Highway 99 Well what do you expect ? – on Highway 99 There is no life after death on Highway 99 …………………………………………………………

Buy me dinner Put me in a Buy me dinner Put me in a Put me in a frame You can buy my painting For 10 pints of beer You’d be getting a bargain I’ll be famous when I’m not here Make it 5 and a whisky If you buy me a meal I was at the Royal Academy You’d be getting a good deal Birds sing in the sky Bring back the good times Bird singing in the rain I’m home again I heard Kitchener sing God save the King Now it’s me not him That needs saving Cos I’ve seen hell And I’ve even seen worse You can easily tell There goes Haigh on his horse Now it seems like a dream A very bad dream I need a saviour Northumberland Fusilier Jesus and a soldier Birds sing in the sky Bring back the good times Bird singing in the rain I’m home again Put me in a frame The streets of this town The cold north sea I like just hanging around Paint just what I see Birds sing in the sky Bring back the good times Bird singing in the rain I’m home again

about

These songs are recorded as demos for The Thinman's road band - which is forthcoming - as it has been for the last few years. Loadsa help from Bernie The Bass Bishop; keen to pluck his new proper Fender P-Bass and Vince on the odds and ends drum kit. There is the incomparable Louis The King (The Thinman's longest serving band member) on Saxophones. Special mention too for the "incomparable" Lec Violinski on the Four String Fretless Neck Guitar.

When The Thinman finally gets his road band together Lec is "up for it" (if the drugs start to work again) - Louis is "thinking about it" (in his dreams) but new Bass and Drums are required (cos Bernie and Vince are pipe and slippers snowmen) - any snowmen out there interested ?

DON'T FORGET TO LISTEN - thnxalot - Robby
